Silicone Silo Bag – Clear Cast

The SSP Silicone Silo Bag is a cylindrical shaped dome designed to contain the extra abdominal viscera during reduction of Gastroschisis or Omphalocele.

The Silo Bag is constructed from implantable grade silicone elastomer. The clear cast shell allows for visualization of the viscera during reduction with no seam to obscure the contents. The open end of the Silo Bag has a resilient, non-metallic reinforced silicone ring that is designed to be placed inside the abdomen and may be sutured in place, providing a closed environment, minimizing peritoneal fluid loss and bacterial contamination while reduction is taking place. The distal end of the Silo Bag has a reinforced silicone loop that may be attached to an overhead support for continuous, postoperative traction on the Silo Bag.
